Prefabricated School Buildings – a modern blend of aesthetics and functionality

Prefabricated construction projects are becoming increasingly commonplace with every passing day. It can be found everywhere from prefab industrial structures to offices, hospitals, hotels and schools. People are slowly realising that prefabricated steel construction is of far greater advantage than traditional brick and mortar construction.

The most coveted thing about prefabrication is that it can be assembled and disassembled with ease, it is cost-effective and at the same time friendly to the environment. Be it a site office, school or large warehouse, prefab buildings are very energy efficient.

In recent years, schools have also adopted prefabrication in India. While there are several benefits that prefab schools bring to the table, there are some factors to consider before you bank on this technology:

1. You can have your school ready real fast

Needless to say, speed of construction tops the list of advantages here. With prefab you can build a school within few months, which is unthinkable of  with traditional construction. The faster you have your school building ready, the faster you can recover the investment by starting new batches.

2. Prefab construction does not cause any disruption

If you need to expand your school building for more space, prefabrication is the way to go. This offsite mode of construction ensures there is no disruption to ongoing classes. Once a modular classroom is ready, the rest can be constructed offsite, without causing any interference in the daily routine. Once the classroom structures are ready, they can be assembled during afterschool hours.

3. Need more space? Expansion is easy!

Prefabrication give the capability for buildings to be assembled, dismantled and reassembled with ease if need be. Modular construction enables expansion possibilities. So if you need more space, with prefabricated construction you can easily obtain it. Just have the structural elements built in the factory and assemble it. Such flexibility is not possible with traditional construction.

4. Long term cost savings

Another notable advantage of prefab schools is its cost effectiveness. Certain prefab contractors design schools themselves. When you compare this with hiring architects and designers separately as always needed in traditional construction, prefab comes out as a more affordable option. What’s more – the fact that prefab buildings can be easily expanded means you need not spend on extra alterations that are common with brick and mortar.

5. Causes minimal pollution

Prefab schools can be designed to any degree of complexity and dimensions. Steel, which forms the primary structure is recyclable. Additionally, offsite construction means there is little or no waste left at the construction site. All these factors make prefab buildings green! Indeed, they are more eco-friendly than their brick and mortar counterparts.

The demand for space keeps growing with ever increasing population. It is nearly impossible to meet this demand with traditional construction. Therefore, prefabrication is the answer. Prefab schools are versatile in nature and offer the flexibility of expansion. They are aesthetically appealing as well, so the new generation of kids would find a lively space to study in.

At EPACK Prefab, we have recently done a school building project which was completed in few months! Our two decades of experience coupled with professional team helped achieve this. If you have a requirement, do reach out to us!

The Best Practices for Maintaining Modular Office Buildings

Modular office buildings are a great option for businesses of all sizes. They are typically faster to construct than traditional office buildings, and they can be customized to meet specific needs. However, like any building, modular office buildings require regular maintenance to keep them in good condition. Here are some of the best practices for maintaining modular office buildings: Inspect the building regularly:  Conduct regular inspections of your modular office building to identify any potential problems. This includes checking for signs of wear and tear, such as cracks in the walls or roof, loose tiles, or damaged windows. Clean and maintain the exterior:  The exterior of your modular office building should be cleaned and maintained regularly to prevent the build-up of dirt, debris, and mold. This can be done by washing the walls and roof with a mild detergent and water. Inspect the HVAC system:  The HVAC system is essential for maintaining a comfortable temperature in your mo
